Independent cell testing requests

Send cells for honest testing and possible public database inclusion.

Manufacturers, distributors, builders, and individual cell owners can request BatteryRealData testing. If the request is accepted, samples can be shipped for testing, documentation, and public comparison against the datasheet.

Manufacturer sample program

Public testing for real cells, real data, and real accountability.

BatteryRealData is built to show what cells actually do under controlled test conditions. A submitted sample may be photographed, measured, compared against its datasheet, and published as part of the database.

Honest-results policy

No paid positive reviews. No hidden bad results.

Sending cells for testing does not guarantee a favorable result. If a test is completed and accepted for publication, the measured result is reported honestly whether the cell performs better than expected, meets the datasheet, falls short, gets hot, or stops early.

  • Manufacturers can provide datasheets, context, and intended use cases.
  • Measured voltage, current, capacity, Wh, temperature, and safety-stop behavior are not edited to improve the outcome.
  • Unsafe, damaged, unidentified, or unsupported samples may be refused or stopped before completion.

Before shipping samples

Do not ship cells until the request is accepted.

After review, BatteryRealData will reply by email with next steps. Shipping address and sample quantity are shared only after the request is approved.

  • Send matching, new, clearly labeled samples when possible.
  • Include datasheet links, lot/date code information, and rated charge/discharge limits.
  • The sender is responsible for legal and safe battery shipping compliance.

What can appear in the database

Each accepted cell can become a complete public profile.

Cell identity

Brand, model, size, chemistry, photos, datasheet link, and published manufacturer ratings.

Measured performance

Capacity, Wh, voltage sag, DCIR, runtime, current level, end voltage, and comparison charts.

Thermal behavior

Peak temperature, safety stop temperature, post-stop heat soak, and fan/cooldown notes when available.

Review notes

Plain-language observations about whether the cell looks appropriate for the requested use case.

Cell testing request

Tell me what cell you want tested and why.

The request is sent to nelvick@diy500amp.com. Dangerous, unclear, unsupported, or incomplete requests may be declined.

Submission readiness

Do not ship cells until the request is accepted by email. The form uses a static email relay. If it is blocked, use the email button and your email app will open with the request already filled in.
