It is not a how-to guide, operating recommendation, pack-design approval, cell rating, endorsement, or proof
that any current level is safe.
Datasheet limits are the operating limits
Many manufacturers rate cells conservatively to protect cycle life, warranty margin, heat margin, and safety margin. BatteryRealData may show that a cell has extra lab margin, but that does not change the manufacturer's voltage, current, charge, discharge, pulse-duration, or temperature limits.
Never copy the extreme tests
Some public results may intentionally push cells beyond datasheet ratings or normal use. Treat those results as controlled stress-test data only. NEVER exceed the manufacturer datasheet limits in a device, flashlight, tool, vehicle, battery pack, charger, or customer build.
Cells can fail after the load stops
A lithium-ion cell can keep heating after a discharge ends. Temperature can continue rising and the cell may vent hot gas, spark, rupture, ignite, or enter thermal runaway.
Pack use is not the same as a lab test
A single-cell fixture with monitoring and cooling is not the same as cells buried in a pack. Holders, busbars, nickel, copper, wiring, airflow, BMS settings, and enclosure design can change safety dramatically.
High-current data is not a continuous rating
Even when a chart shows a very high current, that does not mean the cell should be used continuously at that current. Follow the manufacturer's datasheet and qualified pack-design limits.
Required safety understanding
- Do not perform lithium-ion high-current tests unless you have the training, equipment, remote operation, fire-safe enclosure, ventilation, PPE, and emergency plan needed for destructive cell failure.
- Do not use BatteryRealData Hero, Temp-Cut Hero, pulse, burst, or over-datasheet results as permission to exceed datasheet current, voltage, charge, discharge, pulse-duration, or temperature limits.
- Do not assume fan cooling, a short test duration, or a successful previous run makes an extreme discharge safe.
- Do not use BatteryRealData results to justify unsafe packs, unsafe wiring, weak holders, inadequate busbars, or disabled protection systems.
- If you do not fully understand lithium-ion hazards, do not perform these tests.
How to read BatteryRealData results
Completed lower-current tests are usually the cleanest comparison data. Over-datasheet, early-stop,
pulse, burst, or very high-current tests should be treated as stress information only. The purpose is
to show behavior under controlled observation, not to normalize dangerous use.
A cell that performs harder than its datasheet in a BRD test may be interesting, but that extra output
can come at the cost of cycle life, safety margin, temperature rise, and failure risk. BRD publishes that
information for transparency and comparison, not as an instruction to run cells outside the datasheet.
BatteryRealData may publish warnings, shorten extreme tests, mark results as stress-only, or remove
results that could be misread as safe operating advice.
